Ronald M. Nagelberg, DDS

Dr. Nagelberg graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Based on the course work he completed as a dual major in Biology and Computer Science, he could have chosen to receive either a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. Following his undergraduate studies he was accepted to New York University College of Dentistry. In 1983, he graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Subsequently, Dr. Nagelberg also taught at New York University College of Dentistry in the Division of Restorative and Prosthodontic Sciences. He continues to advance his knowledge by keeping abreast of the latest research, developments and dental innovations available. His professional resume contains over 1400 hours of advanced education.

His practice employs state-of-the-art technologies combined with an old-fashioned dedication to patient care and comfort. Above all, Dr. Nagelberg is dedicated to the conviction that modern dentistry should be virtually free of pain, both clinically and financially.

Dr. Nagelberg has maintained membership in some of dentistry’s most important organizations including the Academy of General Dentistry, The Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the American Dental Association. He is also a member of the Dental Society of the State of New York and the Nassau County Dental Society.

For many years Dr. Nagelberg owned a dental practice in South Orange, New Jersey. While in South Orange he received training as an Emergency Medical Technician and volunteered with the South Orange Rescue Squad. Having originally come from Long Island and having strong ties there, he decided it was time to return. He began practicing dentistry in Mineola on October 1, 1998 and joined the Mineola Chamber of Commerce April of 1999. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of this chamber for the past two years and has also been a member of the Mineola Fair Committee as well as a major sponsor and an active participant in the fair. Each year Dr. Nagelberg and his dedicated staff raise money, which is donated to Mineola Youth and Family Services.

Dr. Nagelberg and the staff at Long Island Dental Care are involved with Mineola Youth and Family Services in another way. He has been a mentor in their workplace mentoring program called, “Helping Youth Reach Their Potential”. Interestingly enough, this important program is also supported by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce.

Additionally, he is a fundraiser, major sponsor and race day volunteer for the Mineola Mustang Run. He and his staff also participate in the Mayor’s Halloween party and Senior Citizen Appreciation Day.

Dr. Nagelberg has received various awards, citations and proclamations from Former Village of Mineola Mayor, John Colbert, Former Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta, Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi and the Mineola Chamber of Commerce for his support of the Mineola Community. Also selected by the Mineola Chamber of Commerce for “Business Person of the Year” in 2005, and named as an “Every Day Hero” by News Day in 2005 as well.

When Dr. Nagelberg is not busy in his office with his patients or involved in community activities he can be found participating in dog shows, doing woodworking, or behind the lens of his camera, as he is an avid photographer.

The breed of dogs he’s involved with is the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, also known as Swissy. His first Swissy, Griffin is a regular attendee at the Mineola Fair.
